Ojo Zarco archaeological site

Financed by late social entrepreneur Don Pedro Mayer, the topographic and architectural survey of the buildings of the archaeological site Ojo Zarco was carried out in collaboration with archaeologist Luis Felipe Nieto Gamiño in 2014.

Located in the Municipality of Dolores Hidalgo, the archaeological site Ojo Zarco belongs to the Sunken or Closed Courtyard Tradition and showed spatial characteristics consistent with an urban location, in contrast to others that present features mostly of ceremonial or markedly astronomical use.

The buildings maintain a well-defined east-west orientation and are integrated into three architectural ensembles, interconnected by a roadway that maintains the same east-west orientation, as well as a series of walkways, plazas, patios and platforms.
